About
ArcytechArcytech is a one person organization that was started during the summer of 1996. After a year helping wire one of the local middle schools and working on many infrastructure projects, I was very eager to start working on developing tools and applications that could be used inside the class or at home to have very direct influence to improving education. One of the strong missions for Arcytech is to make all of the tools freely available under this non-profit organization.
The first tool, introduced in May of 1997, is an online Book Club for teacher-directed online book discussions. Since then, a few Java applets and an Online Homework Hotline have been developed and made available to several schools.
Arcytech is located in Palo Alto and you can view the Arcytech Research Labs where this site is being developed. All of the development has taken place during my own free time. Most of my ideas were refined by talking with teachers across the US to make sure that all of the applications developed could be used in class and incorporated into the curriculum. So far the feedback that I have received has been very positive.
Here is my short autobiography. I was born in Mexico City where I obtained an EE degree from the University Anáhuac in 1977. I then came to California to attend Stanford University where I graduated with a MS and Engineering degrees, both in EE, in 1980 and 1982 respectively. Since then I have been working in a high-tech company here in the Silicon Valley in the area of Electronic Design Automation.
